CIA Program Requirements and Conditions

By applying to become a candidate in the CIA program, an individual agrees to accept the conditions of the program. These include requirements regarding eligibility, exam confidentiality, ethics, and continuing professional education, along with other conditions enacted by The IIAs Board of Regents or Certification Department.

 

Eligibility Requirements

CIA candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements for education, character, and professional experience:

 

Education

CIA candidates must hold a bachelors degree or its educational equivalent from an accredited college-level institution. A copy of the candidates diploma, transcripts, or other written proof of completion of a degree program must accompany the candidates application. With the exception of full-time undergraduate students in their senior year, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam until the educational requirement is met. Students please refer to page 18 for special instructions.
